About
Huijiang Wang is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the CREATE Lab at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). His research explores how morphology, materials, sensing, and control can be integrated to create adaptive and intelligent robotic systems. During his PhD at the University of Cambridge, he conducted research in the Bio-Inspired Robotics Lab, focusing on embodied dynamics and bio-inspired mechanisms for adaptive robotic behaviour.
His work has encompassed variable-stiffness anthropomorphic fingers, form-flexible suction grippers, self-healing soft robotic grippers, human upper-limb coordination, expressive piano-playing robots and learning-based methods for human–robot cooperative piano playing. Prior to joining EPFL, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa), where he worked on bio-inspired robotic design. He was also a Marie Skłodowska-Curie ESR Fellow in soft robotics within an EU-funded MSCA Innovative Training Network.
